What to Expect from your First Facial?

What to Expect from your First Facial?

So you’ve scheduled your first facial! What can you expect? What should you do to prepare? How long should it take? These are all great questions!

Preparing for your first facial is an exciting step towards better skincare. Here's what you can expect and some tips to make the most of your experience:

  1. Product List or Picture:

  • Write down or take pictures of the skincare products you use at home.

  • This helps the esthetician understand your current skincare routine and tailor the facial accordingly.

  1. Makeup-Free Arrival:

  • Arrive without makeup if possible.

  • If you're coming from work with makeup on, it can be removed before the facial.

  1. Comfortable Clothing:

  • Wear comfortable clothing.

  • You might be provided with a robe, but comfortable clothes are recommended in case you're not.

  1. Hair Care:

  • Clean hair is ideal; freshly washed or styled isn't necessary.

  • A headband may be used during the facial, so consider the impact on your hairstyle.

  1. Cleanliness:

  • Aim for cleanliness; a shower and semi-clean hair are recommended.

  • Maintaining a clean environment is a priority for both you and other clients.

  1. Arrive Early:

  • Come in 10 to 15 minutes early.

  • This allows time for any paperwork and ensures a smooth start to your session.

  1. Paperwork and Glasses:

  • Be prepared to fill out any necessary paperwork.

  • If you use reading glasses, bring them along.

  1. Medication List:

  • Bring a list of any doctor-prescribed medications.

  • This is crucial to identify any potential interactions with skincare products.

  1. Allergies and Sensitivities:

  • Note down any allergies or sensitivities to products.

  • Communicate these details to the esthetician to avoid any adverse reactions.

  1. Time Allocation:

  • Facials can range from 30 to 120 minutes.

  • Allocate enough time, including an additional 15 minutes for paperwork, check-out, questions, etc.

By following these guidelines, you'll help ensure a smooth and enjoyable experience during your first facial. Communication with your esthetician is key, so feel free to discuss any concerns or preferences to make the session tailored to your skincare needs.
