What Permanent Makeup Eyebrow Style is Right for Me?

Are you considering permanent makeup but not sure which brow style is right for you? Brows can be done in a variety of styles that include microblading, nano brows, powder brows, combo brows, and ombre brow. What are the differences in styles and which style is right for you?

Microblading

Microblading is one form of semi permanent makeup application. Microblading looks like individual hair strokes that are manually drawn onto the clients existing eyebrows. Pigment is implanted onto the top layers of the skin, also known as the dermis, which typically lasts between 1-3 years. How long the hair stroke lasts depends on the clients skin type and their home care routine. Microblading is not recommended for individuals with oily skin nor mature skin. The ideal client is an individual in their 20s and 30s with dry to normal skin type with a good home routine that includes daily sunscreen.

Nano Brows

Nano Brows is very similar to microblading in regards to hair strokes and the ideal client, however, the difference is how the hair strokes are created. With nano brows hair strokes are created with a machine instead of a hand held tool.

Powder Brows

Powder Brows may be referred to as Airbrush Brows, Stardust Brows, Borderless Brows and Soft Tap Brows. To achieve the desired results a digital machine is used to implant the pigment into the skin which gives the appearance of a soft powder look. Powder brow is perfect for the mature client, those who have very little hair, or the individual with oily skin. This style can last up to three to five years with proper homecare that includes daily sunscreen.

Ombre Brows

Ombre brows are very similar to powder brows; the difference is the saturation of the pigment. Ombre brows are darker on the tails and lighter toward the heads of the eyebrows, whereas powder brows are more solid in their consistency.

Combo Brows

Combo brows are a combination of microblading and powder brows in that there may be individual hair strokes and shading. The ideal client is an individual in their 20s and 30s with dry to normal skin type with a good home routine that includes daily sunscreen.
